This image came out of a solo backcountry trip from charlottes pass to cootapatamba lookout returning via the snowy river. This trip was a little spontaneous as we were only allowed outside the state the day before. The stars seemed to align because I had the day off work and I didn’t have training in the morning due to injury so I packed the car and headed up at first light.  The weather was arguably the best I’ve had up there this year, blue skies and not much wind. With no real route planned I headed from charlottes towards Kosciuszko, walking maybe the first 4k because of patchy snow. As soon as I hit the snowy river crossing just below seaman’s hut, the snow was thick enough to get on the skis so off I went heading up towards rawsons pass. Made it to cootapatamba lookout for a quick lunch stop and then began to ski home flying down the valley towards charlottes pass.
